Dry Skin Foundation Recommendations | High-End Brands

*REQUESTED TOPIC VIA FACEBOOK*
Maggie, one of my readers, has been wanting to try a high-end foundation, and she wanted to know if I could help point her in a good direction. She, like many people, has dry skin--something I've never been familiar with. But I still wanted to answer her question in hopes that she would end up with more information and recommendations than she would have gathered before.
I went and searched info that one of the most educated people in makeup, gossmakeupartist, has on his YouTube channel. I also went and searched some other things on my own to come up with a few other foundation recommendations from around the internet. Plus, I also learned about a new topic that I can always apply to clients!

Laura Mercier Moisture Supreme Foundation
   Price: $42.00
Size: 1 fl. oz. (average size)
   Coverage: medium to full
Shade Range: 1 shade (horrible range!)
This comes in one light color, and I really think you could make this work with your skin tone if it's generally light. If it is too dark, set the foundation with a loose powder that's one to two shades lighter than your actual skin tone to help even out the color. If at all possible, I'd try to find a Laura Mercier counter (possibly in a Macy's) and have them test the color on you to see if it matches your undertones. There aren't very many medium to full coverage foundations for dry skin that I've found, so despite the terrible shade range of this product, I think it may be worth trying or at least getting a sample of if you're ever looking for medium to full coverage. Also, watching reviews of this product on YouTube may give you more information on the actual color of the foundation and how it looks on different skin tones.

NOTES

None of these foundations have a pure matte finish. They're mainly a satin finish, which is great for most people with dry skin because it doesn't make skin look dull!

I would recommend purchasing all of these products *EXCEPT THE MAC ONE on Sephora.com because they carry a bunch/most great high-end makeup products all in one place! Plus you can earn points every time you order. If you spend $50 shipping is always free, and you get 3 free samples of products with every order. I've been using this site for several years now, and I love it. :)
*MAC is not carried at Sephora. You can either purchase MAC products online, or go to one of their stores/counters if there is one close to you.
